Sacred Ground

  • Church of the Good Shepherd 214 Main Street Nashua, NH 03060 United States (map)

Monday evenings: Feb. 20 - May 1, 6:30-8:00 pm

Reserve your Monday evenings for the Sacred Ground, a film- and readings-based dialogue series on race, grounded in faith. We will walk through chapters of America’s history of race and racism, while weaving in threads of family story, economic class, and political and regional identity. The program focuses on Indigenous, Black, Latino, and Asian/Pacific American histories as they intersect with European American histories. The curriculum consists of online videos, assorted essays, discussion, and two core books: Jesus and the Disinherited by Howard Thurman and Waking Up White by Debby Irving.

Our group will meet every week on Monday evenings from 6:30 - 8 pm for 11 weeks beginning Feb. 20th. Facilitators for the group are Sarah Patton and Susan Moyle. The program is limited to 10 participants, so please sign up as soon as possible.**

If you would like more information or have any questions, you can visit the Sacred Ground website, view Preview Materials, or contact Susan (susanmoyle6@gmail.com) or Sarah (sarahpatton39@gmail.com).
