Meeting you where you are on life's journey.

Milestones: Sacraments

As church community we provide loving fellowship and support through the good times and the difficult times of our lives. Living this way we make God's love known to one another. Good Shepherd will support you during those times in your life that are special, whether they are joyous or challenging.

Baptisms

Through Holy Baptism we are incorporated into the community of the Church, celebrating God’s love and forgiveness.  We welcome people of all ages and backgrounds to the sacrament of Baptism.  Baptisms are performed during Sunday services, typically once per month. For upcoming dates and more information contact the church office.

Weddings

Celebrating the love found in a life partner in the presence of one’s family, friends and God is a joyous occasion!.  Church of the Good Shepherd welcomes you to the church as you prepare for your marriage.  Our clergy preside at weddings both here at the church as well as weddings held at other locations.  In the Episcopal Church it is required that one of the parties be a baptized Christian. The clergy perform weddings of all people regardless of whether or not they are Episcopalian, members of Good Shepherd, single, divorced or widowed. The State of New Hampshire legally allows the marriage of same sex couples. Contact the office to get the process started. We look forward to celebrating with you!

Funerals

Losing a loved one is a difficult and challenging time. Our clergy are available to accompany you in your loss. The clergy preside at the funeral of any person, whether or not a member of Good Shepherd. When a death is imminent, the church can be called if prayers and/or the service of ministration at the time of death are desired. Contact the church so we may respond appropriately and help with the decisions regarding the funeral service and arrangements. The funeral service can take place at the church, at a funeral home, at a cemetery or at another location.

Good Shepherd also has a Memorial Garden for cremated remains. It is a small, peaceful spot behind the church with a beautiful cross on the brick wall and a granite bench for sitting. For more information or to make arrangements in advance contact our clergy.

Counseling

Emergencies and Crisis Counseling

Our clergy are available for consultation regarding any emergency or crisis at any time. They are willing to set up a meeting at a time mutually agreed upon. They can be reached at any time through the church secretary or the church answering service at 882-5352

Short Term Counseling

The clergy are trained to do short term crisis counseling (1-6 sessions, depending upon circumstances). During these sessions it may be determined that more counseling would be appropriate. In such cases the clergy will assist in referring you to qualified counselors and therapists they respect and know. Appointments can be scheduled by calling or emailing the church office and may be for individuals, couples, or families.
