The Week of Weeks: The Feast and Fasts of Holy Week

Join is this Lent as we explore the celebration of Holy Week: Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and the Great Vigil of Easter. Lent is, of course, a time of repentance and reflection – but it also functions as a period of preparation for the great feast of Easter. The forty days help orient us towards the central feast around which the life of the church revolves, and so we will spend some time each Wednesday night in Lent discussing occasions that lead up to Easter. How did the washing of feet on Maundy Thursday begin? Or the waving of palms on Palm Sunday? Where does the Paschal Candle come from? Together, we’ll think together about their origins, their theological and historical significance, and how we celebrate them in our own tradition.
